Heat exchangers

Whenever a hydraulic system operates, part of the energy is inevitably converted into heat. Excessive temperature lowers oil viscosity, accelerates oil ageing and seal wear, and shortens the life of pumps and valves. A heat exchanger is therefore not an optional extra but a prerequisite for reliable operation.

Depending on the available cooling medium and space, we select an air-cooled unit with a fan or a water-cooled exchanger in shell-and-tube or plate design. Selection is based on the required cooling capacity, oil flow, ambient temperature and permissible pressure drop.

We advise on selection, and we supply and install the heat exchanger in an existing power unit or a new system, keeping the oil within its optimum temperature range.
