Deep hole drilling is a process for producing bores whose depth is many times their diameter. We drill into solid material, without pre-drilling, using tools that continuously flush chips out of the bore through an internal coolant supply.
This gives a straight bore, good surface quality and an accurate diameter even on very long workpieces. Deep hole drilling is carried out on a Sunnen machine.
We drill bores from Φ30 to Φ160 mm into solid material, up to 9 m deep. The bores can then be honed, so tubes and cylinders for hydraulics are produced in one place.
